Good morning! Another wonderful week in The Deen!
We had Zone Conference! On Wednesday we drove down to Pierre, SD. It's only about a three hour drive from us but when ZC starts at 9am you leave before you're supposed to be up. But we got there safely! I love how we are at the beginning of the transition into really focusing member work on the members! The members are full time finders and missionaries are the full time teachers! Embrace the Change! We finished our conference and we were back on the road. 500ish miles later we make it back. I find it hilarious but in my training I am the designated driver lol. You're not supposed to drive until you're out of training. But Sister Fonotoe doesn't have a license and Sister White's expired this week. So it looks like it all me. I'LL DRIVE MY ROGUE FOR THE LORD! In the future when I come visit Aberdeen I won't be the same if I don't listen to polynesian music. I'm getting really good at singing in Samoan even though I have no idea what I'm saying haha.
Now let me tell you about Jana! We couldn't get ahold of her Sunday morning so we visited her at like 8:30am and we definitely woke her up. But she said she'd be at church asap and to save her a seat. She sneaks into the chapel and is beaming! She was nervous coming to church because she was worried people would judge her. But she was brave and came anyway! I explained the sacrament and what it all meant and she thought It was super cool! She still seemed a bit nervous, then a new family started speaking and sharing their testimonies and she leaned over to me and says "I feel at peace, I feel like I am Home" and she was glowing. She loved church and she met a lot of members who welcomed her and made her feel so loved. She told us again she wants to be baptized as soon as possible and we are working with the bishop to find a reasonable date! I love her and her desire to align her life with Christ!
We were teaching another friend and right in the middle of us reading the Book of Mormon she looked up and said 'I forgot to buy lysol spray'. It caught us all off guard because we were all feeling the spirit and then she got distracted and Sister White said "I'm glad reading the Book of Mormon helped you remember your grocery list" and I couldn't take it. I laughed. And sometimes it is so hard to teach people who get distracted so easily. But it made me laugh.
I'll explain the subject now. We get really bad wind storms here and on Wednesday we had a cRaZy one and the wind blew my glasses off my face and my cello almost flew out of my hand! Like it blew off the ground! You had to walk like you were in one of those christmas specials where the wind pushes you over. But it's real now. Anyways... We were walking into our complex and we saw our friend Wanda and her dog Sassy and Sister Fonotoe told her "If your dog blows away, give us a call!' and Sister White and I lost it! What are we going to do if her dog blows away??? HAHAHAHAH
I was given sheet music for a few songs this week that I'll need to record and send in. Please pray that I can get enough practice in so that they won't sound really crusty! I will be so busy! But I have loved getting to play my cello each day.
My spiritual thought of the week is "the Lord loves effort"! In my interview with President Howell we talked about how we are called for our imperfections and that he really does not need us to further his work. IT'S HIS WORK! He could do it by himself. But he wants us to find. He wants us because of our imperfections. and I'm grateful for the knowledge that I can become better and better each day by just giving my best effort!
I love you all! Go read your scriptures! Jesus loves you!
