Before I ramble about my missionary life I want to thank so many of you who reached out to send gifts for the Mizzle Family! They will have a wonderful Christmas!
Anyhoozers... It was another amazing week in the town of Aberdeen. I love Christmas because more people are open to talking of Christ! Believe it or not, but SD has yet to be hit with a big snow storm! We are living the high life over here! The wind is brutal. But we are counting our blessings!
I LOVE ALL THESE CHRISTMAS CARDS! I've been hanging them in my closet and AH i love them!
The NDBM is exercising our faith and trying every way possible to invite people to be baptised! If you haven't seen the ad i shared on Facebook go look at it. It literally says "want to be baptized?". Got to be gutsy to find the elect.
One of my favorite books is called "The Divine Gift of Forgiveness" by Neil L Anderson and it is so insightful. My favorite quote from it is "if you are determined to sincerely return to your Heavenly Father, you will not be kept from the divine gift of forgiveness". It's all in sincere desire! If you desire to make it home to heavenly father you will find a way!
I've met a lot of awesome people this week. Using social media has really gotten myself out of my comfort zone, but stuck me in the miracle zone. Most of my day I friend request random people asking an inspired question and if I'm lucky they'll respond, I usually get blocked. But- this is how we find the elect! The field is white and ready to harvest. Maybe someday they'll accept it.
It was so fun this morning shopping for Jay Mizzles girls! We got them a warm outfit and some toys! We decided to buy Jay some new cooking pots! Ill keep you updated
Our companionship decided we would all give each other gifts but we didn't realize how hard it would be to shop since we can't leave eachother. It was the cause for a stressful morning haha! While we were shopping a lady asked me where to find baseball cards and I tried to give my best guess but my companions chimed in and told her I didn't work at Target. I was wearing red. Rookie mistake. I should have asked her if she wanted to be baptised lol.
Of course as missionaries we teach others, though it may sound like we just want to baptize everyone (we do) but we feel like we should be like Alma giving everyone the opportunity. TEACH REPENTANCE AND BAPTIZE CONVERTS!
As I was studying about our pre-earth life it made me think how Heavenly Father sends his children to earth unsure if they will accept the plan to return to him. How heartbreaking. The last hug from him before we are born would have been such an emotional experience. Do whatever you can to return to him. Do it for Heavenly Father.
I guess my real problem I have as a missionary is watching people, who know the gospel is true, completely reject it. A few emails ago I talked about how agency is a gift! Which it is.. but, i guess i just can't wrap my mind around it. Wouldn't you think that if you knew it was true and it was everything they needed for everlasting happiness that you would want to follow it? Agency is a gift. And they can choose for themselves. But Heavenly Father wants them home more than anything. But it is their choice... their choice.
Our area seventy shared with us a challenge. Ask Heavenly Father for one attainable thing this Christmas. Nothing material. But something of character. Ex, charity, forgiveness, humbleness. Go try it!
We had a fantastic Christmas Sunday with our ward! Our friend Deb from downstairs accepted our invite to go to church. She's in a wheelchair so as Deb would say we "walked and rolled" to church. She loved it!
I have no words for this Aberdeen ward. On Sunday we had three families bring us groceries and meals. We will be good till March. Our fridge is jenga packed. We found out that they are planning a little scavenger hunt around Aberdeen to find our Christmas presents. Seriously so nice. They are taking care of me mom!
Please have a Merry Christmas! If you find yourself bored on Christmas, you should watch all the Christmas videos on gospel library. It always makes me feel festive ;)
xoxo sb
