Hi Eve!
This week I have been trying out new hairstyles and outfits. So far I found some that I really like! ALSO TITHING BLESSING I GOT THESE 50$ shoes for 10$! There so cute too! I had a prompting to deliver cookies to the C coons so I followed that prompting :) Joey has been a good boy, but he as been missing you.
I found out that I really like cookie and cream bars. I am also doing this thing where I photograph my outfits over the year I just started a while back. I think it will be a cool and fun project!

Eve
I don't really know what to write about. I'm really sore from the constant dancing at rehearsal. It rained mud the other day. Everything is filthy now. I'm so tired. Again. We're doing BARF in theatre. it stands for Be A Real Friend. We have to get four gifts for someone at random, kind of like a Secret Santa.
Anyway. I'm off to bed1 Love ya!
Hyrum
Sweet Eve,
We've been praying for you all week, even more than usual. I hope you had a good week. Each Sunday, someone from the ward asks about you. It's fun to give them updates. We saw the pictures in the google drive that showed, what looked like, saying goodbye to your Tongan Princess companion (I can't spell her name). How are you feeling about saying goodbye to her? How are you and Sister White doing? How was your meeting with the Music Missionaries?
As Hyrum mentioned, we had the weirdest snow storm this week. It was a beautiful blizzard but whatever the snow landed on turned brown. It was filthy! Some called it "Snirt (snow dirt), Snust (snow dust), Snalt (snow salt). It was this silty brown gunk that coated cars, sidewalks, roads, trees etc. It doesn't easily wash off. Everything was so dirty and gross! The day after the storm the car washes around town had huge lines (I was in line at the Holiday Oil carwash for 1 1/2 hours and I'll have to go through it again because the van is still dirty) Some said the carwashes were still busy today. So weird! The weatherman said it was caused by some wind that came before the snow. Because the summer was so dry, the sand/dust from the west desert was blown into the air. When it snowed, it brought the dirt back down.
This week at Carden was good. My A Form classes (4th grade) performed at Devotional. They did "Let's Get Together" from The Parent Trap. There were some solos, some actions, and one boy decided to learn the piano part to accompany! They all did great! The favorite lesson this week was "Ice Skating" with paper plates in the Music Room (we did this while listening to Classical Ice Skating music like "Skater's Waltz" by Emile Waldteufel. I was surprised that all ages enjoyed it. Some students even begged to take their ice skates home (paper plates).
This week my lessons will be about the Romantic Era (we will be learning about those composers, style, time in history-including some inventions of the time). As I mentioned before, students have been bringing in "Ancestor Cards". Most of their ancestors are in this time period (Joseph Smith/Restoration Era). We will also have some kind of a Valentine's Party using some karaoke mics. Should be fun.
Emma and Matt came over tonight for the Super Bowl. We had a big spread. Dad researched a bunch of recipes (sliders, queso, jalapeno poppers, stuffed mushrooms, 2x baked potatoes, roasted cauliflower). What a meal to break the Fast! By the way, I fasted for you and cousin Erik.
I'm not sure if you heard anything about Erik but he needs our prayers right now. Carrie says he's had another episode like a seizure. His mission President has been in contact with them. They are working to get Erik in ASAP for an EEG with a neurologist. Erik doesn't want to come home but he is discouraged. We were fasting that they can get the help/answers they need.
Cade Bryant has COVID now. Jill has been over her COVID for about 3 week. Those poor kids are back in quarantine again. They are frustrated. How is COVID there? How has your health been? I feel that all of this mask-wearing has helped cut down on the cold/flu that usually accompanies this time of year.
Patriarch Tippetts and his wife have been called on a mission to Saint George so he is released from his duties as our Stake Patriarch. Since Patriarch is a lifetime calling, it is like he is put on inactive status for giving Patriarchal Blessings. The new Patriarch will be Patriarch Birkinshaw from the 17th ward. We don't know him but I'm sure he's wonderful.
Ben and Hyrum gave a wonderful testimony today. Hyurm referred to the challenge you gave to us- to list what we KNEW about the gospel. He testified of the 3 things he KNEW: Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was a prophet, and we have a living Prophet today. He said that all questions that could arise can be answered by those 3 truths. He said that he doesn't have to have all the answers right now. He quoted Elder Holland (speaking from that same pulpit) "YOU CAN'T DENY THE EVIDENCE" and pounded the pulpit just like he did.
In his testimony, Dad talked about receiving personal revelation. He talked about how different people receive revelation in different ways (He's never felt "burning of the bosom" or "stupor of thought"), but he's felt peace, joy, goodness and love. He now understands that different people feel the Spirit different ways. It's so important for people to learn/understand how THEY feel the Spirit, write down their inspiration, then DO what the spirit directs.
Dad and Hyrum are still on the Sea Chanty kick. Shiver me timbers and blow the man down....
I love you Eve! I'm so proud of you! Keep the faith and the beautiful smile!
💜 Mom
Millie,
For the record, I read the last part of Mom's letter and we are not on a Sea Chanty kick. We watched a show about a sea shanty group and added a few song to the play list. To be fair, Hyrum is deep into a sea shanty kick. He keeps playing them for us. he is trying to get the Men's Choir to perform a sea shanty, we walks around talking like a pirate. He is in deep. I get a kick out of your weather updates you put on the Google Drive. I shiver every time I remember to look and know you have an update for us. Our weather has been weird. We had a snow storm which we saw little of. The snow was brown. It did not look brown when it was falling but it covered everything in a thin layer of dirt. This is special dirt. This dirt does not wash off. It is almost cemented on all the vehicles. Mom washed her car and in spots it just moved the dirt around. The snow fell Friday and Saturday all the car washes were around 20-30 cars deep. I choose to not wash the car and will try this week. It is not very cold but everything looks a little more brown than usual.
Patriarch Tippetts was given an "Inactive" status. The Tippetts got called on a mission to St. George. I don't think I have met the new Patriarch. The Berkinshaws. I fell lucky that I was inspired to have Patriarch Tippetts be my companion speaker last month. The have formed a Stake Youth Council and they are having the member of that council speak with the High Council. I get to speak with Olivia Neilson in 2 weeks. We get to speak on "Being Proved, Tested and Polished." I gave this talk in December so I am 2/3rds of the way there.
This was my first full week in my new role. It felt good to be doing something instead of studying for it. I was tired each night. It has been a while. This week I get to dive a little deeper into the role. Mari will get he braces off next month. I don't know if she mentioned it or not.
We fasted for you today. We hope you are feeling good about your offering and finding people to teach. We also fasted for Eric. I don't know if you heard or not but he is still having problems. His Mission President reached out to Carrie and said Eric is having Seizure like episodes. He does not want to come home but they are discussing it.
Love you kid and I am very proud. Keep praying and looking for opportunities and you will find a way to do the work. I firmly believe that if we do our part the Lord will provide a way to get His work done.
Love,
Dad
