2/8/21 - Whatnot

Happy Monday!!!

I want to thank you all who sent me an uplifting email this last week. I definitely had a rough patch, but this week I started back uphill FULLSPEED!

I got an assignment! I am officially a Music Missionary! I will get to work with three other missionaries on Music videos and whatnot. I have a lot to learn about different software's and recording devices but I am excited and grateful to be apart of it.

Sister Fonotoe is now with family in Utah! I miss my Samoan princess. We drove her to Jamestown on Wednesday and dropped her off to another set of missionaries to take her to Bismarck. While on our way back Sister White and I decided to visit some of the members. While we were walking up this driveway the sun came out and it felt SO GOOD to have the sun on your skin. It felt like spring! I was tempted to take off my coat and soak it all in. Good thing I did not because it was -14 degrees.

We 'finally' hit the brinks of a South Dakota winter. It's been in the negatives all week. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Your hands and ears get frozen so quickly . As we were loading Sister Fonotoe's luggage in our car we were hit with a gust of wind.It knocked over Sister Whites apple which left a juice smudge that froze immediately. What is this place...

We have been ghosted so much lately. We cleared out our teaching pool to make room for those ready to listen. It was sad dropping people. I have to remind myself that they are just not ready yet. YET! We had hopes of some of our friends show up for church. None of the planned ones came. But the miracle is that our friend Monica we gave a church tour to a few weeks ago attended! She sat by us and lifted my spirit.  I love attending church with new people! She enjoyed the meeting and we taught her the Restoration later that night. Another miracle is that another unknown lady came. Her name is Maegan, her old neighbor was a member of the church and she decided she would come learn for herself what we believe! We talked with her and then set up an appointment to get to know her better. It was so cool to see that when we make room for new people the Lord puts people who are ready to hear in our path.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT NICOLE! Nicole responded to an ad on Facebook and the Sisters in Bismarck responded back and after messaging her they put her on date for baptism later in February! The crazy news is that she lives in ABERDEEN! We hopped on a call with her and the Bismarck Sisters and we taught the Restoration and then set up a time for her to come see the church! She is so cool!

Sister White and I were doing our shopping in Walmart this morning and this guy stops us and asks us where the toasters were. Mind you that we are in our dresses and tags, but, we told him we did not know but we could help him find a worker. He then looks in our cart and says "you're buying water" and Sister White and I  are both confused but we say 'yes'. This guy obviously wants to talk and we love talking! He introduces himself and we tell him that we are missionaries and then he starts asking us all these questions about Jesus Christ and then explains to us how there are prophets in different time periods (apostacy) and he basically talks about a lot of the points in the Restoration lesson so we helped him download the pamphlet app and then gave information to the Elders. But WOW we are excited for him!

I feel I should share how grateful I am to be a missionary. I know there is nothing better I could be doing for myself and my family. It has been a few very humbling weeks but I am grateful for the Savior who makes it possible that I can keep trying. Jesus Loves You!
