Eve,
I don't want to go to school tomorrow. We're entering the last few rehearsals before we open on Thursday with a matinee on Wednesday. That's fine and all, but doing school while doing the musical is just taxing. i'm so tired all the time, but at least i'm doing ok. I decided to be happy. i'm trying to put a positive spin on life, and so far it's been going ok. Love you Eve. I hope we get a recording of Matilda so you can see it later.

HI EVE!
I voiced a commercial! I'm not sure what it's for but me and dad are in it! Emma, Matt, Gretchen, Mom, and I went skiing.IT WAS SO FUN! I fell down a lot but it was really easy after a little bit. I like apples. I like greek yogurt and blueberries.
This week I helped out with a kindness week during lunch. I GOT TO MISS THE BORINGEST CLASS !!!!!!! We didn't do anything that day so it was good. I like bananas. I MISS YOU SO MUCH! I think that's all that happened this week. LOVE YOU !
MARI
Sweet Eve,
I can't wait to hear how you like your new companions. From the pictures, they look like really nice girls. It also looks like you got some braids? Is there a story? How is the music going? Are your responsibilities becoming more clear? We've been praying for you, and your name is in the temple. I hope it's helping.
As Mari mentioned, we went skiing! It was so fun to be back on the slopes again. It took me a minute to remember how to ski and get up the courage to go fast...but then it all came back to me! I can't wait to go again. Mari learned really fast. Hyrum said he wants to come with us next time. When you get home, you have to come with us! I think you would really like skiing. We rented our gear from Scheels. They had the best prices around! Walking into that store made me miss you!
Our family was asked to do a musical number for Stake Conference coming up in a few weeks. We've decided to do another 4 part harmony, acapella hymn, like we did at Christmas. We practiced a few of our favorites tonight but haven't chosen one yet. The favorites are some of the ones we enjoyed doing when we had Sacrament Meeting at our home...."Nearer My God to Thee", Be Still My Soul", "Abide with Me", "I Need Thee Every Hour", "Redeemer of Israel", "How Firm a Foundation", "Hope of Israel". We can't decide. Looking back on our "Home Church" during COVID was a precious memory. Has anyone from SD shared any "Home Church" experiences...or did they ever have to do remote church during this pandemic?
Grandma Charlene's birthday was today. We had a nice visit with her. We brought Joey. Their dogs didn't quite trust Joey...he's such a lively puppy! Today he went outside and found one of the dried up artichokes that we grew. As he tried eating it he started choking on the spikey-fuzzy middle of the artichoke. I guess that's why it's called arti"choke". Ha! Anyway, he brought it into the house, all shredded. When we found it, we thought it was a dead bird or some other fuzzy animal. Joey was proud of himself!
Dad spoke in O2 today. He did great! His talk was about the refiner's fire and overcoming challenges. It's always fun to hear him speak! Apparently, there was a small fire at the building R3 meetis in (Breanna's church). They had some smoke damage and weren't able to hold meetings there today. They moved their Sacrament meeting to the Relief Society room in the Stake Center. We don't know any other info. Scarey stuff!
We've had a lot of snow this week but it all melts fairly quickly. Such a blessing! Wednesday, Carden was canceled because of the snow. It snowed all day! It was lovely to be home instead of on the roads.
I can't wait to hear how your week went. Are you taking care of yourself mentally, emotionally, physically? All 3 need to be in balance to be your best self. Try to make some time to exercise and drink at least 64 oz. water each day. Even if you can't leave your apartment, you can do some squats, lunges, crunches etc. It will help you feel better and blow off some steam. Please don't forget this! I've been trying to do this every day (except Sunday) and it has made all the difference. He will bless your efforts in this too.
I sure love you and am so proud of you. Thank you for taking the time to write such good letters and also do such inspirational FaceBook posts. You are an extremely focused missionary. Your new companion(s) is/are very lucky to have you!
💜 Mom
Millie,
We have been hoping all week you are doing well. You had a lot of driving, new comps to gel with, your music assignment . . . you have had a lot going on. We hope you are happy and healthy. I have been getting serious with my efforts around exercising so I have some ideas for you that will work in small spaces if that would be helpful.
Hope you are coping OK with the weather. We saw your pictures of you and the cello case outside. I guess the weather has improved if you are taking your cello outside. We had a lot of snow this past week. We got the snowblower out. It all melted quickly. They canceled school at Carden so your Mom got a day off. I think it did her some good. Mom and Mari went skiing on Saturday. Hyrum had a musical rehearsal and I had a bunch of other things to do (I tried to take my make up Estate Planning exam for my CFP and did not pass by enough of a margin to be done. I guess I have to really learn the material). They had fun. They both came home and went to bed early.
I spoke again as a member of the High Council. The topic this month was Being Polished, Proved, and Refined. I got to take my steel rod to Sacrament meeting again. I think it went well. We had some smoked damage in the building where R3 worships. They moved their Sacrament meeting to the RS room at the Stake Center. I heard we had some YM playing bball at the Stake Center (still a no-no with COVID about). I ran over there to remove them and found they were our YM. They asked the Bishop if they could play ball and were denied. They found a way. When I booted them they said he got the key from a friend. I took it. It turned out to be one of their parents keys. I hate being the bad guy but that happens a lot being over Facilities.
This is a big week for the family. Hyrum's musical is being performed this week. We get to see it a few times except for the night we are going to Hale Centre. It will be good to let him perform. He decided he had to shave his sideburns because he is a "Little Kid" in the play. I shared with him how to shave his sideburns but not when to stop shaving. He took his shaving past natural hair line to where he has a direct line from his temple to his ear. Mom tried to fix it a bit and he looks like he has a little kids hair cut. It is a good thing his hair grows quickly. He should be reapplying to Chik-Fil-A later this week.
I have total confidence in your ability to train a green missionary. I'm excited for you to have this opportunity. Remember that Love is the answer to most all challenges in a relationship. I'm looking forward to hearing what you learn from the experience.
Love,
Dad
