Wowza what a week!
I had to say bye to Sister White :( She left to go home. Love you forever Chowder <3 But on the brighter note! I got my two new comps Sister Baird and Sister Powell! Both from northern Utah! Sister Powell is the sweet new Sister I'm training. She is so prepared to be a missionary she is a STAR! Sister White and I drove to Bismarck early Wednesday morning and we get to the mission home around noon. I met Sister Powell and we drove all the new sisters to the Stake Center. I remember being in their shoes... It seems so long ago hahhah. We met Sister Baird there and we then began the journey home. Road Trips totally soak up your whole day. We arrived in Aberdeen SD around 5:30 and rested for a bit. I love these Sisters so much. They are just what Aberdeen needed.
I wish I could say more happened this week. Transfer week always is funny and slow. Sister Baird is one of our fantastic content missionaries so she is always editing videos for the mission. I am working on Music stuff so poor Sister Powell is learning a lot of new hobbies. These meetings last ages. Like 2+ hrs a day. I am learning I need to not be so reactive or else President will call you out over Zoom and ask what is so funny. We are learning our poker faces because Sister Baird and I are learning to talk without moving our mouths during these meetings. *I promise only when the things don't pertain to us hahahah*
and MAN this weather is perfect! You wouldn't believe me when I said a week ago we were at -18 without windchill. But yesterday we were hit with a beautiful 38! Oh man it was beautiful. We opened all the windows and aired out the apartment. We took an hour long walk and the sun was shining and it was AMAZING! I feel so blessed! We walked around Wiley park and in our exploring we found a zoo! Baby Yaks are adorable
We gave Marium and Dariela a lesson and when we finished Marium asked us if she could braid our hair! She is so cute!
I would like to thank all the concerned emails about taking my cello case outside and taking pictures.. well I FOOLED YOU! My cello wasn't even in my case HAHAHAHAHH I took it out before that picture. I'm not that brave taking it outside yet. That day it was around -8 not too bad but still not cello safe ( Sister Powell is holding my coat dad :))
We had a great lesson with Nicole! I will be honest in saying that I was nervous giving her the Word of Wisdom lesson. But my new sisters encouraged me and it was so worth it! We taught it bluntly and she completely agreed with everything we taught her. She said she wants to learn how to follow it exactly! We asked her to make a goal and she loved it and keeps us posted each day with how it went! I am so proud of her!
Spiritual Thoughts:
When you feel alone and abandoned. Remember " They will do anything within Their power that does not violate your agency or Their laws to help you come back home". Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will literally do anything they can to help you come back home
The root word for perfect in Greek means to be completed or finished. No wonder we can never become perfect in this life. We can only become perfect in Christ farther along in the plan of salvation. Keep trying! Just do your best!
I feel like I am finally starting to understand how to be a missionary. Thank you all for the prayers! I need them but nonetheless and grateful.
xoxo sis barlow
