3/22/21 - TANG

The best feeling in the world is feeling the Spirit testify through you.

We met with Jana this week and we talked about a future date for baptism! It'll be a few years but she told us "Even if it takes a few years it will be worth the wait". I need more faith in people. I meet a lot of people everyday and they want nothing to do with our message. Then we find people like Jana or Nicole and I just sit in amazement in how the Spirit has been preparing this and it is not a temporary want. I most likely won't be a missionary when Jana is baptized but I will come back to witness it. We moved onto the topic of Temples and the importance of it and she shared how she was reading about the three kingdoms and how she only wanted to be in the top (Celestial). We talked about what we have to do to live there and she said "I can do that if that means I can live with Heavenly Father again". Isn't she precious?! I love Jana!

We had our filming trip this week! Good gravy I am so tired. I miss the day after a big trip and you get to sleep for hours to recover. Sadly, that is not an option as a missionary. We drove Wednesday-Friday going to Fargo-> Grand Forks -> Detroit Lakes. Our trip this week was about 700 miles total. We only drove 3 hours the first day but then 7 the next. We got to meet a lot of really awesome members as we filmed them and their families! We were setting up our lights in one of the families homes, and then their kids came into the room. They were coming out of NOWHERE! for real! they were coming from under couches and out of closets! . All the sudden children are climbing out of furniture and there were so many they just didn't stop! They just kept coming! That night we were so beat. Sister Powell and I watched a few Book of Mormon videos to wind down. I feel so lucky to have the comps I have right now. They make road trips so fun! Everytime Sister Baird sees a bird she gets her finger guns out and says "pew" and then sings Flight of the Valkyries to wish it well. hahahah

South Dakota is so funny to me. You ask for orange juice and they bring you Tang. I'm not sure about anyone else but Tang is what I drink when i'm not feeling well. Our cute members came to us after the sacrament meeting one Sunday and said that they picked up some orange juice!. I got super excited because orange juice is pricey up here. But we open the church fridge and it's full of Tang. We are so lucky to have these thoughtful members. My comps both love Tang so we are all good hahaha. We are grateful nonetheless.

Last Monday after p-day hours, I was working on some music documents and the thought came to me. 'Do a video on Mount Rushmore" and I'm like, YASS! WHY HAVE WE NOT DONE THAT YET! So as I was thinking more about it it came to me how cool it would be to do it around the 4th of July! I was looking at some patriotic hymns but it just didn't seem right. Then another thought came "Homeward Bound" and again i'm like YESSSSSSSSS THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER FOR THAT IDEA! We are working out the kinks now but I think this could potentially be a really cool video!

Fun Fact: the people of Aberdeen are called Aberdonians

John Bytheway gave a really cool devotional for the NDBM and my favorite line he gave was "Every Question begins with a Quest, Every Testimony begins with a Test"

Love you all! God is so good!

xoxo Sister Barlow
