Good afternoon. My name is Russel. Are you in need of any assistance today sir?
jkjk that's been in my head all day!
WOW what a week! I love North Dakota.
Okay so let's start with Miracles!
#1 Nickie: We had a lesson with her finally! We gave Restoration and she was darling and kept saying " Oooo, Ahhh, I didn't know that!". We finished it up and then left. We got in the car and started driving and the spirit kept saying "go back and invite" so then I made Sister Myers stop and park again and we sprinted to her apartment and INVITED HER TO BE BAPTIZED and she ACCEPTED! Her baptism is scheduled for the 30th and is just under 2 weeks. She is so darling though. She was so happy to tell everyone at church!
#2 It was Saturday night around 8;45 and we got a call from our STL's and they promised that if we grinded on Area Book till 9pm we would find a new. So Sister Myers and I GRIND and we followed everyone on Facebook that we hadn't yet and then we came across this phone number and we called her and she actually picked up! We had a great conversation and found that she was really needing a break so we scheduled a time to go meet with her at the mall and then gave a quick "God is our loving Heavenly Father Lesson" and that means she COUNTED AS A NEW! Miracles do happen!
Bismarck is a place unlike any other. Every year they put on this party called "Halloween in April" and it's basically the biggest Children's Halloween Party ever! All the Bismarck missionaries volunteered and we all were in charge of games! It was so fun! I met a girl named Sadie there and I invited her to our YA volleyball and I think she'll come! So fun!
Cool News! I'm an Instagram Missionary now! Go follow me and the pages I have linked in my account! @eve.m.barlow
We had our Zone Conference Thursday. I love ZC. The thought that kept coming through my mind is 'Where much is given, much is expected". I have realised on my mission that I have been so blessed and that because so, I need to give it all I have.
I was reading in the Divine Gift of Forgiveness By Niel L Anderson and two passages really struck me
"I affirm to you that repentance is a true and essential part of His plan. The Lord needs you- a humble you-a repentant you- and clean you- a pure you- a covenant keeping, commandment-honoring you- to use your talents and greatest abilities, increased exponentially by the gift and power of the Holy Ghost, to prepare yourself and other for the Second Coming of the Son of God"
This next passage really opened my eyes ""C.S. Lewis expressed this idea: " Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is.... A man who gives into temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. That is why bad people, in once sense, know very little about badness- they have lived a sheltered life by always giving in""
Anyways, thank you for listening to my Ted Talk. I love you and it is a promise that If you read the Book of Mormon all things shall be made known!
