5/10/21 elders in their natural habitat...

Hey hey hey! 

 

Alright so we will start at the beginning at the week! Our YSA did baptisms on Monday night and we offered to bring treats! I made just some normal chocolate chip cookies and we left them in the church kitchen.. not a big deal, right? Well Sister Barlow has a hard time realizing how many cookies are needed for a single event, so my recipe made about 4 1/2 dozen, they only took a single dozen, so now Sister Barlow and Sister Myers have 3 1/2 dozen cookies and a new realiziatoin that that was a dumb idea making so many cookies. But no fret! You're in Bismarck where there are a lot of missionaries! We brought them for District Council and since most of the missionaries leave in the next few transfers. They do this "6 months with no sugar" deal so we're like " RIP We have so many cookies!". But then our Elders on the reservation came in, and I kid you not. 3 Elders VS 38 cookies = no cookies. THEY ATE EVERY SINGLE ONE. I'm not complaining, but it was like watching something on Discovery Channel! It was fascinating. 

 

Now to a more spiritual note:

I have never witnessed more miracles in my life! 

This week was national day of prayer, Our Ad Elders made a bunch of ads to invite people to pray with us and we got so many messages!!! Just with Sister Myers and I we found 3 news! THAT'S A LOT for North Dakota! 

Sister Myers was also messaging this Lady for a while, and she decided to meet at the mall but we got there and she had left. I guess she didn't realize that Sister Myers had to bring me with her. But God is so good! And He gave her the courage to come back and we met up and the first thing she said was "I really hate the idea of changing, but I know I need to, how do I do it?". From this we had an awesome conversation and we are meeting with her weekly! 

Another Miracle is that we have been trying to get ahold of Amber since the day I got here. But we had the feeling to stop by. We knew that her apartment building would be locked but we said a prayer and asked if there could be a way it would be opened. Anyway, we walk up to the door and there's a few buttons to call different apartments, Sister Myers just pushed a random one and IT JUST HAPPENED TO BE HERS! She let us in and we talked for a few minutes but she shared that she really does want to meet with us but there's just not a good time now. So in the future, I am so excited to teach her! 

 

I hit my 6 months! Sister Myers made it super special and made all my meals that day! The night we filmed the music video for "I Know He Lives" down on the Missouri River! I'm excited to see how it turns out! 

 

We got transfer calls on Saturday! I am staying in Bismarck and Sister Myers is heading up to Williston! She is opening up a new area! #proudmom! Sister Erdman will come join me and we will both be STL's! Should be a great transfer!

I saw Sister Baird and Sister Powell when they came to do baptisms! Toy story clouds! (don't mind the beer sign, we're working on that...) Mother's day call!!

Hey Hey Hey! We had a fun week! *Happy Birthday Sister Matthews!* Along with cowboys, Aberdeen is flooded with Karen people! It's close to Korean but it is pronounced "Ka-Riin" but they are the nicest people! We got a referral for a lady named June and was told she worked at one of the Karen Asian Markets in town so each day we hit another one to see if we can find her. No luck this week but with each store we go to I try a new food. I found that I love Aloe Water- so gooood and that Durian flavored anything is of the devil. AH IT'S SO BAD! I like most food but that is #1 in the worst foods ever created .  We lost a member of the ward to Covid-19 this last week. We had a funeral at the church and us missionaries helped out. What a crazy time to be alive. It was a tender service but as we were sitting I was just thinking about the second coming. I really think it's a lot closer than we think. 3/22/21 - TANG

The best feeling in the world is feeling the Spirit testify through you.    We met with Jana this week and we talked about a future date for baptism! It'll be a few years but she told us "Even if it takes a few years it will be worth the wait". I need more faith in people. I meet a lot of people everyday and they want nothing to do with our message. Then we find people like Jana or Nicole and I just sit in amazement in how the Spirit has been preparing this and it is not a temporary want. I most likely won't be a missionary when Jana is baptized but I will come back to witness it. We moved onto the topic of Temples and the importance of it and she shared how she was reading about the three kingdoms and how she only wanted to be in the top (Celestial). We talked about what we have to do to live there and she said "I can do that if that means I can live with Heavenly Father again". Isn't she precious?!
