10-10-21 Family Letter

 hello

Well, this week was just one rehearsal after another, really. I had my choir concert on Wednesday, and a performance on thursday. the worst part? I was extremely sick for this whole week. It started last Saturday with slight aches and continually got worse until Wednesday. I ended up with major aches, headaches, congestion, and general unease. my voice also broke. I could barely sing, and I had two performances! We made it out alive though, so that's what matters! We're almost through to fall break though, so I'll be able to leave all the Drama drama and sophisticated scholastics behind for a while!
Love ya, Evernni!

HI!!!!
I'm still dealing with a little bit of post show depression. I still haven't heard from the fairytale club thing.
I found out that the school musical is Wizard of Oz! I'm going to audition for Glinda.
We had a cast party! It was fun! I gave Miles a Hug!
My Friends and I hung out this weekend! It was fun. We went to a haunted house!
On Saturday dad and I went to a BYU game! It was really cold( You've had worse) but it was really fun!
I am a nerdy person In our theater classes play! I am very awkward and know it all. The play is called the Alibi.
Anyway, that was my week. Very uneventful! Hope you're having a lot of fun!

Sweet Eve,
Thanks for being such a good letter writer.  I love reading your letters each week.  You have such a fun way of looking at the world.  Every day we pray for you to find people to teach...especially a family.  I hope all is well with you.

As Hyrum mentioned, he's been sick...and I'm sick now too.  My symptoms are similar to his.  I've been down for a few days now. Grandma Charlene brought dinner yesterday and Jennie Richards is bringing it tomorrow.  I hope I'm doing better tomorrow because I have to teach.  They have a really hard time finding a substitute for me, especially last-minute.  I hope no one else in the family gets this.  BLAH!

This week for Dad's birthday I bought him some Utah Jazz tickets, lower-bowl!  Emma and Matt bought some right next to us and Nate and Eliza bought some right behind us.  It should be a fun night....we can't be sick! I also took the day off on Thursday so I could (hopefully) take Dad golfing.

I am excited for you to get your birthday package.  We sent it to Sister Erdman's address like you requested.  The zip code you gave us was for Minnesota, but the UPS store helped us figure it out.  It should get there pretty soon.

Dad got a new High Council assignment.  I'm sure he'll tell you about it.  He's really excited!  Last week I had my first meeting with the YW who are in charge of family history for their class (the 2nd counselors).  I "bribed" them to meet with me by having them choose their favorite Swig, which I brought to our little meeting.  I met with them one-on-one to find out what they already knew about the Family Search app, what they knew about their assignment, what their plans are to help encourage the girls in their class to do things on Family Search.  It's a slow process, but hopefully we'll all learn and grow together.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday week.  I love you so much!
💜 Mom

Millie,

Happy Birthday week!  Hopefully you have not been too "boy who cried wolf" and get some accurate birthday wishes this week.  The whole family has been sick this past week.  Hyrum is recovering. Mom is in the middle, Mari just started and I'm trying to duck and cover the best I can.  Nothing too big.  It is a nasty cold that lasts about a week.  Mom does not get a lot of days off and they are terrified she will call in sick and leave a non music sub to battle with the kids all day.

Not much happened this last week.  Hyrum had a choir concert and did great.  He has a bit of a solo.  It was more acting than singing.  I took Mari to the BYU game yesterday.  It was their first loss of the season and it rained most of the time.  It was still fun.  It was my first game of the season.  We are all hoping that the family heals soon and we can get back into a routine.

I got a reassignment in my High Council calling.  I'm no longer over facilities.  I'm now over MISSIONARY WORK!!!!!!  I get to run (not teach) the Missionary Prep and work directly with Ward Mission Leaders.  I'm not sure what it all means yet but I'm excited to figure it out.  I get to go to a Missionary correlation meeting with the Stake President and Missionaries.  I'm excited to make a change and learn something new.  I went to Missionary Prep today and was surprised we had no representation among the YM in the Ward.  Hyrum does not know it yet but he will likely get the benefit of going with me each week.

We are eager to hear if your teaching pool has increased.  We have been praying as hard as we can that it will.  Good luck this week.

Love

Dad
