11/15/21 Sturgis and Stabfish

 Happy Monday!

We have a super busy week my friends! Sister Dupaix and I are trying to catch up on the exchanges we were hoping to have in the beginning of the transfer, but didn't because of our trip to Bismarck. We decided to have 2 exchanges this week.
I went to Rapid Valley with Sister Sorge and we had a great time! Most of our lessons were canceled but we got to meet a lot of members and really worked hard on facebook! She taught me how to play the flute too!
We drove back and I stayed the night in my area and then left the next morning to our Spearfish/Sturgis Sisters apt. YES you did read that correctly! Sturgis as in "Home to the Largest Motorcycle Rally!  Super cute area. Its a small town seperated into a few shallow valleys. Everyone drives a motorcycle and there are pubs everywhere that are just lined with motorcycles 24/7. I love it.  I stayed with Sister Davis and we taught a lesson to a couple in Sturgis and then we took the drive back to Spearfish (formerly known as Stabfish by us sisters) where we did some door knocking! It may sound strange but we don't prioritize door knocking procelyting because for us it is a waste of time for driving to the different neighborhoods in the dakotas... But we did it in Spearfish because it has seen success in this area! I got my first door slammed in my face! Somewhat exciting! I still think being left on read on Facebook messenger hurts more haha. But I am still grateful for the practice!  Sister Davis and I opened a booth on Black Hills University booth and we talked to a lot of young adults and we got some good contacts!
With our exchanges I haven't been in my own area for 48 hours so I will give a good update on our people next week!

The Rapid City Stake has had boundary changes and they went into effect yesterday at 5pm after their last meeting. The wards near the city were all affected but it's not a crazy move. The Sturgis branch on the other hand.. They used to have a building in Sturgis but with the boundary change, they will be apart of the Black Hills Ward and will have to drive the extra 45 minutes to sacrament each week. We are sad to see the Sturgis Branch go but God is showing us that we are about to see a lot of growth in these areas. Pray for Sturgis!

How many Relief Society Members does it take to build a loveseat? The answer is 3 plus two sister missionaries and it still took two hours.
A member told us of a less active member in Hermonsa who needed help moving and we happily accepted the call. We called a few members in Hermosa who we thought might be able to help out and we got two other ladies! (Relief Society is so cool) But we are taking out all of the parts of the loveseat and we realize that all the clips and the hinges are all screwed in the wrong direction! After an hour of us figuring that out, we fixed all the mistakes of the factory and we built a loveseat. Mind you though this whole process the 3 women (2 we brought with us and the lady we were helping) were all trying to lead the project, They were all "trying to lead" in how to correctly make a loveseat, and then they each gave up on working as a team and attemped to build it all on their own! It looked like a dog fight watching them grab parts from each other HAHAHAH! But if you would've watched us, you would have found us humorous. But the good news is that eventually we built that loveseat.. and that's really what matters! But the Relief Society is so cool! These ladies just took our friend under their wing and they just exemplified this concern for her! I love the people here in South Dakota

In my studies this week I finished 3 Nephi and I just have 2 thoughts.
- 3 Nephi 26:16-21. What would the world be like if we all heard the unspeakable things talked about in these scriptures? Would there be more believers or more unbelievers after they've witnessed the talk of angels? idk food for thought.
-  GRACE! I feel like I read and study grace every week but then we will meet a basher who makes me question all I know about grace. I have read the talk from Elder Wilcox but to be honest, I still don't understand much. When reading 2 Nephi 25:23 it makes sense to me but trying to explain grace with the scripture, I get so lost. I would LOVE any pointers you can give me!

I have loved being a missionary and am so grateful for the past year I've had getting to share his plan to his children. We are so lucky to have a living prophet to lead and guide this church under the direction of Jesus Christ. God is so good! South Dakota is my favorite place! I love it here!

All the love
