Sweet Eve,
Here we sit in correlation with the Sister Missionaries.  Dad has been very busy with his new missionary calling.  He has been in his tie ALL day!  No complaints, but he is tired!  He's such a good guy!

We also just got back from Barlow family night.  It was good to meet with everyone again.  Micaela started her mission but was able to come to family night.  Grandpa led the discussion and invited all the missionaries to share something they learned from their missions.  Because we have so many RM's in our family, the lesson went really long...good but long!

Some of the highlights:  Erik- It doesn't matter how many people you baptize.  The most important thing is who YOU become in the process; how committed YOU are to Christ.  Emma- expect miracles.  Brendon- You can offer them the gospel, but they are the ones who have to make the changes and decide for themselves.  Micaela (what she has realized so far)-  She cannot convert people, that's the Spirit's job.  Keith- be bold and confident.  Be confident enough to tell someone that what you have to tell them is more important than that playoff football game they are watching (He did this while in Columbia and the guy let him in, turned off the playoff game and said, "If you have something so important to tell me, I should listen...I'll give you 5 minutes"  the guy and his family ended up getting baptized and he is still in contact with Keith...all because he was bold and confident in the message.  Dad- Love is the answer to every question and problem.  Pray for charity.  Love people where they are.  Michael Scott- Love the people, the culture, the food.  Let yourself see the world from their perspective.

The Carden Gala was fun.  It was nice to get dressed up so fancy.  Dad was a wonderful date.  I love introducing him to my work friends.  Some of the items auctioned and the price they went for:
10 day African Safari $9000
Cute labridoodle puppy $5500
Box seats (1 game) to see the Raiders $3500
Chip cookie named after you/your company and marketed on social media for 1 month $5500

...only at Carden.

My offering from the music department was for the Carden Chamber Orchestra to play at an event.  Someone bought it!  I wonder where we will play?  My students thought it was fun to get "sold".

While at the Gala Dad and I were talking to the Bytheway's kids (Their daughter who is Emma's age served in France, their son just returned from Iceland).  Some mission advise for you from them:   Remember the House of Israel is found through fishers and hunters.  Many missions cast out their nets and draw in a net full of fish.  Others require hunters.  Sometimes, hunters may track an animal for weeks before they ever get a shot...and then there is no guarantee that that shot will find its target.  The Lord works one-by-one.  That one is precious to Him.  Those kids both served in hunting missions.  I suspect you are in a hunting mission too.  Go hunting my girl!

I love you so much!

Well
This week was busy! I've been at rehearsal till about six everyday, and since I've been giving a 110% every time, I'm always exhausted.
Family night did me good, I feel much more refreshed! But I'm going into the full run throughs/tech week, so we'll see how this goes.
My piano recital went well, and Paula had me play last. I finally paid my tithing for the year, and it was a pretty tidy sum. Have to remember that it was the lords money anyway.
Well, that's about all that happened to me!
cheers

Millie,

Hope you week was amazing.  We just had the Sister Missionaries over.  We started our Weekly Correlation meetings.  We did not get anything done.  We are still getting to know each other.  We have new Sister who is extremely energetic.  It wore me out a bit.  We had a busy day with little rest to it.  Early morning WML Correlation meeting, our 2 hour block, tithing settlement, Mission Prep, Barlow Family FHE (It took over 3 hours) and then the Sisters.  I'm a little tired from the day.

We finally went to see Frozen on  he Broadway tour we missed due to Covid.  IT was full of little girls trying to not sing the songs at the top of their lungs.  It was a good show but the highlight was watching all the girls get excited at all the right part.  It was a good show with amazing set changes.  It was very clever how the changed things around.

Mom big fancy party was interesting.  They let me go to the Gala as they and room and thought we might bid on something.  We did not.  There was a lot of money being thrown around.  We ate dinner with the owner of Chip.  He was offering someone to collaborate with him on a signature cookie that will be available for a limited time.  Most everyone knew each other as their kids have been going to the school together for a while.  I knew my part.  Smile and don't say anything dumb.  Mission Accomplished.  The food was good and your Mom works with some amazing people.

Love you kid.  We said goodbye to Michaela today.  She goes into the Provo MTC for a week before she goes to Texas.  It got me thinking a lot about you and the growth we have seen this far.  Keep moving forward and try to improve a little each day.  Good things will happen.

Love,

Dad
