12/5/21 Family Letter
Hey sis
How are you? It's been real busy here, with madrigals doing our Christmas performances and rehearsals, MDT starting to kick into gear for the review with rehearsals, and Silver Rush starting as well. This year's charity is the Single Parent Project, who collect funds to help single parents in financially difficult situations. So that's dandy, and the silver rush weeks are going to be fantabulous! I'm gonna try and fit odd jobs into my schedule somewhere, and I'm gonna be trying to help out everyone however I can! Well, See you monday!
Love ya!

Hey Eve!!! Oquirrh fest is going great!!!!!
This year our charity is Family promise. It's a charity that helps get homeless families back on their feet.
I have been very busy! I have the next 6 months of my life mostly planned out to be honest.
Rehearsals start this week For Wizard of Oz and also the school Dance is Thursday.
Family fun night is on Wednesday. and I have lots of other stuff going on!
I find it all really fun! My new phone is coming this week. ( Bought it myself)
I'm paying my parents by the month. I got to do my second day of work.
It's really weird.
Honestly I think that was it.
LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!! YOU GOT THIS SIS!!!!!

Sweet Eve,
We just got back from a baptism! She was a cute little 9 year old girl (she is the granddaughter of Brother Brad Larson- seminary teacher...you remember him?) Anyway, Dad was at the church for over 2 hours filling the font. I played piano for the baptism. I was so nervous...but I did it! It was good for us to be there! The whole mission district came! There were Elders and a few more Sisters that I had never seen before.
I also went to mission prep with Dad. I got to do a role-play about how to invite someone to read the Book of Mormon. It was interesting because I seemed to know just what to say and which scripture to share to fit the situation. I really like missionary work so far!
This week is my Orchestra Concert! I am really excited and a bit nervous! This is a different crowd with different expectations. I hope they like the concert. I'm feeling healthier too. Teaching school without a voice was a huge challenge but I got through.
Hyrum wanted his hair dyed purple so I helped him put in purple tips. Yea Silverrush school spirit! I'm proud of Hyrum for trying to get involved. He's making more of an effort to be positive. I'm proud of him.
Mari is such a loyal friend and cousin. We took her to go see Kalia's musical "Holiday Inn" at Hillcrest. Kalia is such a good dancer and is fun to watch...but the show was so long that Mari couldn't go hang out with her friends afterwards. She never complained even though she was disappointed. I'm proud of her! She never complains about her busy schedule as an SBO. She is having fun!
I'm so proud of Dad and how hard he works for the Lord. He's been busy with meetings etc. all day since 6:30 am and still going strong (it's 9:05pm right now). We are sitting at the kitchen table with the Sister Missionaries while Dad has his planning meeting. I feed the Sisters snacks when they come. Tonight the snacks are Peanut M&M's, Chex Mix and mini mixed chocolate Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. We have Sister Pulliam (from before) and a new one, Sister Essex. They are a much more calm combination. I really like both of them.
I hope you have a wonderful week. I can't wait to hear about your transfer. I'm hoping to mail out your Christmas package this week. Are there any final requests for your package?
I love you so much!
MomMillie,
I am excited to hear about your transfer outcome. I have been praying for it all week. Hopefully whatever the outcome it allows for a way to get your cello home.
It has been a long good day. It started with Stake Missionary correlation meeting, our meeting block, an hour to eat and then to mission prep to fill the font for a baptism the Sisters had. The font takes about 2 hours to fill. I forgot to turn on the fan so the room got really humid for a bit. It went well. They had a 9 year old that got baptized. Our crazy Sister was transferred and we got a Sister that is much more calm. The current Sisters did not communicate the baptism with the WML. They let him know yesterday that it was happening today. I got chewed out in our correlation meeting and relayed that to the Sisters. They took it personally and there were some tears. I tried to explain we are all learning and eventually your Mom showed up to give them a hug. There are likely more family members of the 9 year old to teach.
We are still trying to get Hyrum to see the good around him. All weekend he was acting like he was OK. He was smiling and singing. I was hopeful. He started to get a little gloomy thinking about all the performances he gets to do this week. This was supposed to be a super fun year and it is looking like it has been stressful. I hope he can figure out how to change how he sees things.
I'm sure there is more but as the day has gone I'm too tired to remember them. There are not too many times you get to prove your love for Jesus. When they come I like to make sure I take advantage. It was a long day but it was great! Good luck this week with the change you are making. Hopefully it does not require too long of a commute. Whatever it is, you have got what it takes to do it right.
Love,
Dad
