5/24/21 extraterrestrial

hiya

down to business

We had a great week but it was one I will tell my children about later...

Fun things happened though! Sister Erdmann heads up all the communications stuff for the mission so she writes a bunch or articles and organizes all that jazz. The mission has been collecting newspapers since 2019 with the hope we might have been published in them. Our job this week was to  read through all of them and keep the ones we are in. We are in quite a few, but that means about every 75th paper we go through we find one with missionaries. I found a bunch of articles about what only North Dakotans would find pleasing. Such as "Lost Cow' ads or "Jimmy's Birthday Party: One for the books". Lots of obituaries. Which is sad but it's interesting scanning over their life. Everyone lives on a farm and it was their life goal to die on the farm. Crazy lives these North Dakotans have.  We absolutely lost our mind reading through all these newspapers. When missionaries get bored.. they start pranking. We held on as long as we could, but when we found an Ad for Dental surgeries and it has pictures of 30 people and Sister Erdie and I cut our all the faces and put them all around the office elders desks and in their things and then we came across an ad for "ELDERS ABUSE AWARENESS DAY!" and we have never found anything so funny. We taped it to their computer and then ran. Anyway, it may be childish, but we both felt that Heavenly Father thought it was funny too hahah

We have had a lot of first lessons this week! I was proud of ourselves! I found my first Instagram new and we had an amazing conversation and she was super interested in our lives and anyway, God is so good! Sister Erdmann found a lady and we scheduled to go on a walk with her and she told  us she was going to bring her cat. Not assuming anything at all, but I have never seen a cat on a walk. Anyways we arrive and she was very friendly! We start our walk and her cat totally runs off and she was like, "Oh he will come back!" so we just kept going and through out our whole walk she would yelll "MR MOUSTACHE! COME HERE YOU TURKEY BUTT" and that brother and sisters, is North Dakota. I love it here hahahah

Now... For the subject line... We were able to get one of our friends to meet with us on Sunday! She's one of our YSA's roommates and she said she would tag along to church. We were excited! We sit down in the foyer and and starts with all these questions. They were GOOD QUESTIONS all about doctrine and beliefs. We sat and kept having this really awesome conversation and then we hear that sacrament starts. We kept talking cus we figured they would bring the sacrament out. We kept having this spirit led conversation and she was learning, you could see it! Then she looks us dead in the eyes "There are messengers coming to earth from other planets, churches are doing nothing about it, what are you doing to prepare yourself" and I was like HOLD ON, BACK UP. And we asked if she was meaning extraterrestrial, and she was. And I guess there is this "New Message" that has come from one of these messengers saying to prepare yourself to be abducted. SHE WAS DEAD SERIOUS TOO! We didn't know how to go along this so we ended the conversation and hoped we made it back in time to take the sacrament but nope. We look at the clock and we talked for and hour 15m and we missed the sacrament for a wack conversation about aliens. I have never been so upsetti spaghetti my whole mission. We had stake conference last week so it will be 2 weeks since i've had the sacrament. Mistakes were made. But on the good note we did find this article from the church about extraterrestrial stuff. Ill link it below. (we did ask her if she was meaning angels but then continued to tell us that we need to be making a plan not to be abducted...

I still think that the book of Mosiah is my very favorite book. I love the miracles. I love the faith! I love Abinadi! TOUCH ME NOT seriously so cool. Go read Mosiah this week and just watch the faith be grown! We are so lucky to have the Book of Mormon. I have really found that the Book of Mormon is the key factor among conversion. It makes me  SO SAD when we share literal truth right from in and the spirit is so strong and people still reject it even after they've felt of it's truth. We are so blessed!
