7/12/21 That's Sister Forest Ranger to You

Like a cow in tall grass.. I'm utterly tickled to be here...

Sister Erdmann and I spoke in church yesterday and that was her opening line hahahaa. I spoke about https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/share?lang=eng so if you haven't seen it yet please go take a look!
We left Mount Rushmore Thursday morning and drove back to Bismarck. It's about a 5.5 hour drive but our last few days were some of the best! It was so cool to meet people from all over the world! On the drive back we drove through Wall, SD so of course we had to stop at Wall Drug which is this famous strip of stores all Cowboys and Native themed. Super cool! I've decided that I need to stop fighting it and just become hick. I know it's in me. I just need the hat, boots, and belt. I haven't bought anything yet but please know when I come home I will be a whole new person in red cowboy boots

I now have another witness that when you do things the Lord's way he provides for your needs. It's been a blast being on the mountain but it's been hard on our area. We weren't able to find too well ourselves but the dear elders in our area kept sending referrals every day or so to us and we were able to work with them over zoom. Not kidding, we got 5 referrals while we were serving on the mountain! Such a blessing! When you don't have time to find, he will send people to you.

We were able to join Rapid City's meet and greet with the President and Sister Camp. They are the most humble, charitable, kind people. They just want to do a good job so bad. They are awesome! I'm grateful that I get to serve under their direction. Funny story: so we played a get to know you game with them. They first met in Middle School and he sat next to her on the bus and said "When are you going to start shaving your legs?" ... lol i'm surprised she talked to him after hahaha. But they are darling.

Like I said, we spoke in church on Sunday. We invited all our friends and both Nicole and Heather + her 3 daughters came! It was an awesome day! Our ward members were so awesome and were willing to help Heather and her daughters because all 3 of them are under the age of 4. Miracles happen through people!

I just thought I'd share how much I love serving a mission. It's not the door to door tracting like I thought it would be. But the Lord has completely changed the way we find. Of course it's all according to area but here we focus on member work. Elder Uchtdorf said that we would never go back to the old way of missionary work. The message is the same but as people evolve- so does our finding tactics. If you are contemplating serving a mission, GO NOW. The Lord wants to work through you!

I really needed this week on Mount Rushmore to really help me refocus on my purpose. I've regained a new sense of urgency, heaven bless. I needed it.

Love you all! Have a great week!
