8/1/21 Family Letter
Where to start
I don't know. I've been working and relaxing and that's really it. I'm trying to enjoy the little summer I have left, but with me, Logan and Easton working, there is almost no time to film. I might have to request work off in order to have a filming day. I have three days of camp this week. choir camp. I have no idea what to expect, but it's from 8 AM to 9 PM, three days in a row so it's quite a commitment. Anyway, i've got work tomorrow, so i should get to bed, try and prepare for the week.
I love ya!

Hi Eve!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week has been a Party!
I had my Broadway classes with Emma! Those were really fun! I was by far the oldest there but it was good!
For YW we did a birthday camp out. It was super fun! Elizabeth Fisher is a party! Hyrum and I played Minecraft!
For the weekend we went to the cabin! It was a party! not the same without you. :(
School starts in two weeks. I feel very unprepared. This next week I'm going to buy a planner to get organized.
Anyway, tata for now
Mari B.

Sweet Eve,
I follow a site called 'North Dakota Legendary' and they mentioned that the sunflowers are now in bloom! Are you anywhere you can see them? I hope you are!
How are you feeling? Any negative results from the minor concussion? How was your 'recovery' experience? How was the temple?
Random Stuff:
- We have been watching a lot of Olympics here. Go U.S.A.! Mickaela Skinner (a gymnast of our faith, from the U of Utah gymnastics team) just won a silver medal on the vault! She wasn't even supposed to compete but Simone Biles dropped out for health reasons.
- We bought the rock for the fireplace. They install the fireplace on Tuesday but won't do the finish work until next week.
- We spent a long weekend at the cabin. Emma and Matt came. We missed you. We spent a morning at Jordanelle trying out our new Kayak. It was fun. I really hope to get a stand-up paddleboard next. There was quite a bit of rain and it was cozy. We had Sacrament Meeting on the deck. Hyrum taught the Sunday School Lesson on the Priesthood and had an object lesson for us using D&C 84 and his bebe guns/shooting cans off the deck. I can't quite remember the tie-in but it was a fun activity.
- While at the cabin, we went up the Mirror Lake Highway for about 35 miles to visit Grandma Charlene and Larry's cabin. Anthony and Tanner were up there too. We had dinner with them and then went back to our cabin. It was a nice visit.
- My Emma Smith Girl's Camp experience went well. I met some really special YW. I loved that experience, but I'm thankful to have that assignment done. I learned so much that added to my love for Emma and Joseph and for my testimony of the Savior. Dad was wonderful to accompany me up to that camp. It was a beautiful drive up Ogden canyon.
- Reflecting on our COVID experience, we had many blessings: Joey-Puppy, wonderful extra time with family, home MTC experience with you, clarity of priorities, home sacrament meetings, more time to study and learn, time to learn new skills and more about ourselves. Time to set and achieve new goals.
Covid Delta variant cases are on the rise here again. Some places are requiring masks again (even for the vaccinated) Many people seem to get the new Covid, even after they've been vaccinated. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude.
I hope everything is well with you. Your letters and phone calls are the highlight of the week. We are so proud of you and the things you are learning on your mission. Thank you for being a good example for Hyrum and Mari. I hope that one day we can all serve a full-time mission!
I love you!
MomMillie,
We have not heard so I assume your noggin is doing OK. I think I have calmed down to the point where I don;t want the head of the Elder who kicked the ball at your head.
Your Mom did a fantastic job at the Girls Camp she was asked to go to. These were our old friends from Tooele. Tiffany got dressed like Emma and did her hair with the ringlets. She spoke about Emma's life. She had the girls sing "The Spirit of God". I was her tech support. WE downloaded the version she wanted to sing. I plugged my phone into our speaker and then held a microphone to the speaker. It made the song too loud but it all worked out. She does not know it but she is about to start a 2nd wave of her getting dressed like Emma for Girls Camps. TIffany has a great memory. She remembered all the people from the Stake in Tooele. I did not remember any of them. I smiled and pretended I did. It was a fun drive to a lake near Ogden. I'm sure she will get a chance to do it again.
We went to the cabin this past weekend. Grandma Charlene wanted us to go to Larry's cabin. She said it was just past Mirror Lake. It was several miles past Mirror. It felt like a very long drive. It did not help that it was raining and we had a vague idea of where we were going. Larry has a nice cabin. It is just very far away. I had to come down the mountain to go to a funeral so I did not get as much time with the family as normal. A friend's Mom from the 20th Ward passed away and he asked that Grandpa and I go . Dad had worked with Fred Ukiakiola when he was the Bishop and in the Stake Presidency. I grew up with his son Jon. They have never been active as long as I have known them. Fred thought highly of Grandpa. Fred asked Grandpa to dedicate the grave of his wife. The Ukiakiolas are Tongan. They sang a few Tongan hymns that were awesome. Grandpa found Fred's Bishop and told him Fred was his project for 50 years and now he passes the project to his new Bishop. Fred is on track to get his Endowment out soon.
Love you kid. I hope you are safe and eating well. I hope you are finding ways to open your mouth. I hope you feel successful in your calling and all the assignments you have been given. We pray for you daily.
Love,
Dad
