Hello Eve!
The first week of school. and howdy do. I've already had to write four essays. Theatre is going to be taking a lot of my time, and I'll be dancing a lot too. Anyway, I'm planning a date for next week doubling with a friend from Idaho, and I have to ask out to Homecoming tomorrow and that's just a lot of dating and dancing. Anyway, I have early morning tomorrow and should get to bed.

Hi Eve!!!
The first week of school was good!
I was super tired the first day ( cause I'm so used to napping in the afternoon!)
Um so.. One of my crushes is an SBO with me and we had "team building"( which is where we told everyone our crushes)
He went first and said me. When it came my turn I said me, myself and I, but Hailey ( The other girl 8th grade SBO)
told everyone that I like Kaleb. So ya that's the weekly tea. Grandma's 100th birthday party was fun!
I was told in September I could apply at Magnolia grove! I'm really excited! Also On saturday Cece, Hailey and I all did face masks.
It was fun! OUR FIREPLACE LOOKS SO GOOD! I LOVE IT!!!!!
Anyway, that's my week.:)

Sweet Eve,
Nichole got baptized!!!!! We are so happy for her...AND YOU! I'm sure you will fill us in on everything!
This last week I taught summer school. It was great to see some of the students. Tomorrow (Monday) I will be at Snowbird for 3 days doing Carden workshops. I will be the last speaker on the last day. Mrs. Goodwin apologized because everyone will be "done" and ready to go home by the time I give my presentation. I'm hoping I can make it worthwhile for everyone...and at least, fun. A few things I will be doing in the presentation (topic: Music in the Classroom) "Brain Break"- We will play 'follow the leader', dance party style to Vivaldi's "Summer". We will do a "Music Bee" to see how many songs/composers/music time periods they get right. Winner gets a prize. I'm also going to show the part of "The Incredibles" movie "Jack Jack Attack" to explain what often happens when students hear new classical music. I'm also using some of the songs on your "Scores" playlist for a brief movie ID game. Thanks for that playlist!
Grandmother Mildred's party was a huge success. She had hundreds of people there! She also got a special birthday letter from the Governor of Utah and also the Governor of Georgia! Governor Cox (Utah) sent her a beautiful gold Utah pin. She wore it on her lapel at the party. She was pretty proud about her letters. We all brought our stockings that Grandmother has made through the years. It was quite a display! If I can, I want to send a picture of Grandma with the stockings (and a sample stocking) to the Utah State Fair. Do you remember when we did that for Grandma Sanders and she won a blue ribbon?
Anyway, it was great to see all the Barlow family. We missed you! Many people were asking about you. Family is everything!
Our washing machine broke this week. We bought a new one (and dryer) but when Lowe's came to install it, they couldn't do it because the connection to our wall was too corroded. They said we have to have a plumber come and fix it before they can instal. A plumber is coming on Wednesday. I hope they can fix it in one day. We have been using Emma's washer and also a laundromat. Yea for quarters!
I am so proud of you! Thank you for your positive attitude. It shines through your eyes...we see it in the pictures!
Have a wonderful week!
MomMillie,
Your pictures with Nicole are awesome! It looks like it went well.
We had our new washer and dryer delivered but they could not install it. The valves are so corroded that they could not turn off hot water. I never look back there so we did not see how bad they were. We now have a washer and dryer stacked in the garage while we wait for a plumber to replace our valves which is turning out to be a challenge. I went to the laundromat over by the Riverton Legacy park where they had all the state flags. We had to run some loads of laundry. That was an experience. They have a community over there. Our dryer is still working so I took the wet clothes and brought them home. HOpefully we will get that resolved soon.
We are scheduled to get our TV installed this week. I hope it fits. Your Mom let me get the bigger TV. Where they installed the electrical outlet might be in a bad spot for the TV anchor. I hope it works out. The TV has been sitting in the front room for a few weeks now. Once it is installed we will have a completed project.
Grandma's party went well. I smoked a brisket for all the family that traveled in. It got really windy and rained some so we moved it inside. It was good to talk with some of my cousins I never see. We spoke with Aunt Debbie and got her email address for you. She is a favorite. She made a berry cobbler that was awesome! The next day we had the larger party. It was crowded. I did not recognize several of the people who came. There were a lot of cakes and people. We brought all the Christmas stockings grandma made and displayed them. We had a family tree created that shows all the family in tree and portrait form. It was fun to see how everyone fit in there. I had forgotten about some cousins I found there. We stayed to clean up and we think we got Mari a job and the reception center due to her work ethic.
I have a new boss as of a few months ago. She is based out of Denver and is coming in town to try and meet everyone. With Covid spiking we could not get together for a team party. We are going to try and do a virtual party instead. She offered to have those who are interested in setting some time to meet her in person at the City Creek Mall. We need an outdoor setting in order to meet the rules set by Fidelity during Covid. Only a few people signed up. I mentioned this to your Mom and she suggested that we have my boss over for dinner. Before I knew it I sent her a text inviting her to dinner and she accepted. I didn't want her to come all this way and feel like we were not hospitable. Your Mom forgot that she will be gone most of the week at a Carden retreat and will get home just in time to eat dinner. We will have everything ready. I have no idea what we will feed her. My manager is about to get a taste of our "culture". The YW are planning to play Messy Twister and a Food Fight in our backyard the same day as our dinner, I hope it was not a mistake to have her over.
Love you kid. You are doing great work! I hope you are having fun and creating memories that you will look back on fondly.
Love,
Dad
