12-13-21 Midwest Nice: Cop Style

 Hello hello! 


We had a great week here in Rapid City! I'm over two wards now so we have been super busy trying to learn how to run two wards! But it is a blast! 

Funny Story... I got pulled over for the first time ever this week (there goes my clean slate). We were on our way over to one of the bishop's houses (out in the middle of nowhere) and I got pulled over because my tail lights were out... But she was nice and we went on our way. Then I got lost and I pulled over and the cop pulled up right behind me, she came and asked if we were okay and she helped us find our address, she literally escorted us to the bishop's house... She was comparable to the bunny cop in Zootopia. Super nice and very helpful. God is so good. And miracle I was not ticketed heheh

Transfers were this Wednesday and Sister Wessman is my new companion! We served around each other in Bismarck way back when and we are already super tight. She is a literal angel and I am so blessed to have her here with me!

We started teaching our friend Sherri! She's a referral from our member in one of the wards we are in. She was wanting help with some math so the member asked us to help. (I'm terrible at math so jokes on them ahhah) But we met with her and we helped her with a few problems. She then asked us what we do as missionaries and we gave her the whole run down. She opened up a lot and we shared the restoration. She thought it was super interesting and invited us back to share more! We are super grateful and we are now friends! We went over and introduced Sister Wessman and we shared one of the Light the World Videos and she was so so excited to see what our church is about! 

We had Stake Conference and Elder Clark Gilbert came. He came up to Sister Wessman and I and shook our hands and we got to visit with him for a little while. One thing I just loved is how he shared his testimony on being led by the spirit. Even in our scripture study we can be led. We don't have to be a scriptorian but we need to follow spirit! Christmas is such a wonderful time to talk to people. God has his hand in his work here in Rapid. I see it everyday in our imperfect efforts. 
Sometimes you just stand there in awe of how graceful God is. It all works according to his plan. Even I can't mess it up. 
Go share your testimony with someone this week!

Hey Hey Hey! We had a fun week! *Happy Birthday Sister Matthews!* Along with cowboys, Aberdeen is flooded with Karen people! It's close to Korean but it is pronounced "Ka-Riin" but they are the nicest people! We got a referral for a lady named June and was told she worked at one of the Karen Asian Markets in town so each day we hit another one to see if we can find her. No luck this week but with each store we go to I try a new food. I found that I love Aloe Water- so gooood and that Durian flavored anything is of the devil. AH IT'S SO BAD! I like most food but that is #1 in the worst foods ever created .  We lost a member of the ward to Covid-19 this last week. We had a funeral at the church and us missionaries helped out. What a crazy time to be alive. It was a tender service but as we were sitting I was just thinking about the second coming. I really think it's a lot closer than we think. 3/22/21 - TANG

The best feeling in the world is feeling the Spirit testify through you.    We met with Jana this week and we talked about a future date for baptism! It'll be a few years but she told us "Even if it takes a few years it will be worth the wait". I need more faith in people. I meet a lot of people everyday and they want nothing to do with our message. Then we find people like Jana or Nicole and I just sit in amazement in how the Spirit has been preparing this and it is not a temporary want. I most likely won't be a missionary when Jana is baptized but I will come back to witness it. We moved onto the topic of Temples and the importance of it and she shared how she was reading about the three kingdoms and how she only wanted to be in the top (Celestial). We talked about what we have to do to live there and she said "I can do that if that means I can live with Heavenly Father again". Isn't she precious?!
