1/2/22 Family Letter
Greetings.
I hope you're well. Not much has happened here over the last week.
Just spent the entire time working on the revue and trying not to think about school and going back.
I've got one week until the revue happens. four days of tech week. It's going to be a bit of a nightmare, but hey, we'll be ok!
Anyway, I hope you're having success and staying warm!
Love,
Hyrum

This week has been really fun!
I went to see the new spiderman and the new west side story. They were both super good!
We also went downtown to do the giving machines. I gave dance materials.
Also I went to the pool with some of my friends. My friend Kendal did my nails with a really
cute smiley face pattern. I spent New years with Raylee and some of her friends( she's our 2nd cousin on Keiths side
we did schoolhouse rock together) . I knew a few people there but all of her friends were super friendly and inclusive.
I also got L.E.D. Lights installed and they look so cute! I love them!!!!!
I Hope you are safe ( and warm ;)
LOVE YOU SO MUCH EVE!!!!
Love Mari
Sweet Eve,
You got into RainTree at BYU! You have signed up for a year lease (end of August 2022-end of August 2023) They have Kayla as your roommate, unless she doesn't get her application/deposit sent in. I told them that Kayla is on a mission and can't respond until PDay. If Kayla decides not to do it, you are still in and they will get you another roommate. Your monthly housing will be $415. Looking at the online tour, RainTree looks like a great place to live. I am excited for you!
This last week of Christmas break has been great. So good, in fact, that I'm not looking forward to going back to school. Hyrum and Mari both had parties on New Years Eve so Dad fixed me a 4-course dinner. It was so sweet! The Christmas decorations are now put away. It's always good to get the house cleaned up again.
COVID has been pretty strong around here. Our family has been okay so far, but Matt, Shirlene, and AJ all have it right now. Their symptoms are just like a bad cold. A few teachers at my school have it and will be teaching remotely. Our Headmistress sent an email asking all of us to prepare to teach online. I don't think they will need music over Zoom, but we will see. How is COVID in your area?
Today for our "Come Follow Me" family study, we learned about Moses 1 and Abraham 3. It was a wonderful discussion about having enough experience with the Spirit of the Lord to recognize the deception of Satan. Also, we talked about the pattern of Spiritual Experiences and how Satan tries to distract our minds from the Amazing things of the Spirit that we experience. He tries to make us forget the things we've learned and felt. But, like Moses and Joseph Smith, when the darkness threatens to overtake us, if we continue to call upon the Lord, he will deliver us. We can count on Him to deliver us. He is the only one strong enough to do that.
I hope you have a wonderful week. I miss spending time with you but I'm proud of you for unselfishly serving the Lord. What a great experience this is for you, one that will bless you life, and the life of your future family. Your missionary service has blessed our lives here too. Thank you for your good example.
I love you!
Momp.s. Dad just opened the freezer door and the handle came off one side! The other side is not far behind. The fridge motor has been struggling and it leaks water...looks like we will have to get a new one. Hyrum just told the fridge that he was going to miss it. Dear boy!
Millie,
Well, I just broke the fridge. I tried to open the freezer door and the handle just broke off. Little plastic pieces are everywhere. We have been dreading buying a new fridge for a while. I guess we can't delay it any longer. We just bought a few pricey things recently. We have a new coffee table and a family laptop. It will be fun when the bills start showing up.
This was a week of getting things done. We all had the week off and a list of things to do. I spent most of the week working on my calling. I had a few things that needed to be completed. Your Mom had a list of things she has been aching to get done. She has a motor and just kept going. We bought the coffee table, the laptop, picked out flooring samples, took down the Christmas, etc. We had 6 inches of snow and after we dug ourselves out we helped some neighbors on the street. We all go back tomorrow and I have heard grumblings about it most of the night. Hyrum has his MDT review this weekend and feels more prepared than he did last week. He has his costumes and is ready to let it rip.
You got your housing at BYU set up. The apartments seem nice. Your Mom likes the landscaping so it should work out great.
Not much going on this week kid. Good luck with your teaching pool. We can't wait to hear how everything has progressed. We are proud that you figured out your cello strap for your videos. The pictures look great!
Love,
Dad
