12/27/21 merry merry christmas

Hello Hello! Merry (late) Christmas! I hope you all had a great time with family and friends!

We had a fun week up here in Rapid City!

Lets starts with the miracles again...

#1 Let's go back to my time serving in Bismarck...I spent 6 months in this area but I really didn't get to see much success. I loved it up there are made a lot of good friends. Well this week I got a message from my good friend Karen! (If you remember, she was the woman with the pet bearded dragon named Nova). Karen told me that she was getting baptized on the 23rd! I am so proud of Karen! She has grown so much!

#2 As a Music Missionary I have to put together songs each transfer to  film and post on our Facebook pages. This past Wednesday was our only available day to film and record a song that a Sister and I wrote. We started our day and we drove to the half way point from the other sister in Philip SD. We spent the whole day there recording takes and then driving to the filming location. One thing I love about SD is that it's empty. Like, EMPTY!  We just pulled over to the side of a dirt road and filmed it there. Another thing I love about SD is that everyone is so nice! We had so many people pull over and ask if we were okay or if we needed help. We assured them we were just fine and we shared with them the Facebook page! This day we say a lot of tender mercies. I'm not experienced with recording good audio for videos or for filming and editing. But God helped us a lot that day and imp excited for yall to see it! It should be posted on New Years Eve!

#3 The elders had a lady they wanted to pass off to us. We met them and her at the McDonalds in Sturgis and we got talking. Her name is Tracy and she has known the missionaries for about 11 years. The blessed elders didn't know what more they could do with her but they thought we might be able to spark a connection with her. Luckily when we first met, we hit it off and she invited us over! I'll send more updates with Tracy as they come, but God surely works in mysterious ways!

We had an excellent Christmas! We had no plans on Christmas Eve but we got an invitation from a member of the mission presidency to go have Christmas Eve with him and a few other sets of missionaries. We got to drive all the way out to BELLE FOURCHE! I love this cute town. We ate pizza and played a few games. President and Sister McCartney are both sweeties! The bread and butter of Belle Fourche if you will.
Christmas morning we opened presents as an apartment and then we scurried off to the Black Hills for a member breakfast. We had cinnamon rolls and grapefruit (my fav breakfast ever). After the visit we drove to the Stake center to spend some time with the other missionaries before we drove to Black Hawk for another member dinner and we got to visit with them. We left Black Hawk hoping to drive to Sturgis to see Tracy but she came down with the flu :( Sister Wessman and I have been really hoping for a Christmas miracle. We were hoping that it would come with Tracy. But when she canceled we had no idea what to do to see that miracle. We then got a text from a member inviting us to come and visit them real quick. We arrive and shared our message but as we were talking about their lives I just felt the most overwhelming love from God. He loves his people in South Dakota. They are so special to him. Even if I didn't see a crazy miracle on Christmas, I definitely will count that experience.
That night we had no more plans. Sister Wessman realized that we hadn't watched the MoTab Christmas Concert yet so we turned that on while we made sushi. It was such an aesthetic moment. I will admit we both got a little teary listening to the choir. They are just so good it gave us goosebumps.

I hope you all had a wonderful week! Stay warm out there! It's 0 F outside right now (-17 wind chill)

Love you heaps!
