Where to begin.
Hey Eve! I don't really know what's new around here, but I made it through sweethearts! It was...odd.
I just could not engage my date! She was just uncooperative. Idk. She also ditched me about seven time during the dance itself.
Anyway, the date that I've been trying to schedule with some friends is becoming more and more frustrating. I won't go into detail.
Well, on to the new week! love ya!

Hyrum

Sweet Eve,
I'm so sorry about the blizzard and that they had to cancel church.  We were really looking forward to hearing your "sermon".  Bishop Chandler saw your invitation to church on social media.  He said he would have loved to hear your "sermon".  This weekend is a long weekend (Friday-Monday off).  I was so excited to have some time off to get some things done and go on hikes...but, like OFTEN happens when I get a break, I GOT SICK!  I'm so sad!  I got some kind of a cold (at least it's not the flu or covid!) and I feel just yucky enough to not want to do anything. Blah!  I took some meds and went to church.  I still led the music and also substituted in Primary as pianist.  I also went to ward choir and then stake choir practices.  I'm excited to go to sleep.

If I'm feeling better tomorrow, I have scheduled a cross country skiing activity for the family.  I hope I feel better!  Anyway, enough about me.

Emma and Matt were on a dating panel for YM/YW combined activity.  They did great.  It was interesting to hear some of the questions that were asked by the youth.  "Is playing the video game 'Among Us' a good activity for a first date?"  and "What sport should girls play that is most attractive to guys?" (what the?)  I can see why people should not date before 16...they are NOT READY! Hyrum definitely seemed one of the most mature out of the group.  He had good questions and comments.

Mari's Galentine's day party sounded fun.  She had about 12 girls around the table eating cookies and chips.  They were SO LOUD and giggly! I'm also so excited for her to get her Patriarchal blessing.  She is ready!

Dad gave a great presentation at a Stake Leadership training on Thursday.  He spoke about making Ward goals around missionary work under the topics of "Love, Share, Invite".  He reminded everyone that anytime you "Love, Share, or Invite" a friend, you are doing missionary work.  Now that the mask mandates have been lifted, more activities are able to be planned.  Now we actually will have things we can invite people to.  Great news!

Dad and I went to the JR Temple on Friday.  We did sealings with Grandma Charlene and Larry.  They took us out for ice cream after.  It was very kind of them.  We will be celebrating Grandma Charlene's birthday with her on Monday.  She is having everyone over for a pot-luck style dinner.  Grandpop's birthday is on February 25 if you wanted to drop him a note.

I hope your week goes well.  I'm sending you a big hug!
I love you!
💜 Mom

Millie,

Super bummer your Sermon was canceled.  We were looking forward to zooming in to watch.  I wonder how many times church has been canceled in Grand Forks due to the weather.  We had fun telling everyone that we changed our plans due to a blizzard in North Dakota.

Not much happened this week for me.  The family had a lot going on but not much of it involved me.  We had a training for all the EQP and RSP in the Stake.  We discussed the Love, Share, Invite part of Missionary Work.  We reviewed the role of WMLs and the Ward Council.  Most of them were struggling with the concept.  It is new and a change in culture.  It has been a challenge so far but I'm confident we will get it figured out. We are starting to have some of our WMLs awaken to their responsibilities.

We went to the temple with Charlene and Larry.  They took us out to ice cream afterwards.  It was good to be with them.  Tiffany has struggled a lot recently in her relationship with her Dad.  He is being a bit of an idiot as of late.  We are trying to help her get past having any expectations of a relationship with her Dad.  Some day we will figure that one out.

Love you kid.  Stay warm and keep talking to all you see.  We are very proud of you and all the good you are doing.

Love,

Dad
