3/21/22 rubber ducky, you're the one

Hey! I hope you all had another great week! We had a lot of really random things happen. But first, here's what the people want

Brad - upon trying to track down one of our friends, we knocked on a door and it was Brad! He just moved here but was super happy to see us! He's not a member but was interested in our message! Tracting does work!

Dawn - We haven't been able to get a hold of Dawn since the 2nd week of February. She had a vacation and then a trip to Fargo, so we've been really on top of our daily contact with her. Her Fargo trip was this last weekend. We then found out that on her trip she was put on date to be baptized by the missionary she was with. Confused? So are we. Pray that we can actually work this out!

Vincent - Sister Haufe went to do some contacting at the mall and decided to leave stickers around the lobby with our phone number and an inspired question on the back. We got a call the next day and the man said he found the sticker and was just pondering his relationship with God and took it as a sign and called us! We planned to meet at the mall in the food court and discuss it all but when the day came he never showed up or answered our calls :( we will get ahold of him soon I hope.

Marissa - k so this was the crazy miracle of the week! In District Council I got a message on Facebook from a lady whom I have never messaged. She said " Hey, I'm wanting to learn more about how you guys are so successful with missions in the church. Would you be willing to meet?". So either she wants to bash or she is really interested. I did some stalking on her profile and she is a member of a local non-denominational church and is preparing to serve a 2 week mission for them. So with this information and the responsibility of giving everyone an equal chance to hear the gospel, we arranged a time to meet! She wanted to meet at our church building, which caught us off guard tbh. We went early and set the building up all nice and pretty. She walks right in and asks if we can sit in the chapel. We sat down and she brought her thick pink bible and gave us her story. She had met with missionaries a few months ago (my bad for not checking area book to see if she was already a person in it) and she had been taught all the lessons and was just waiting for answer but when she attended church she felt that it was bland in comparison to what she was use to (rock band churches), so much so that it scared her off and she ghosted the missionaries. One day she was reading some statistics in her psychology class and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the fastest growing church in the world. After she explained all this she asked "so how do you do it?" *me rubbing my hand together as to whip up a spiritual storm*. We explained how the real teacher is the holy ghost and how we learn what truth is. Why all these people are joining in grand numbers is because they read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it's true. THAT'S IT! That is all that God has asked us to do, it  is to act in faith, and then to genuinely listen. We then explain the differences between our church meetings and other churches meetings and the sacredness that surrounds the sacrament. I was able to explain how we all can feel great listening to good music, but it's not a saving ordinance and therefore is where temporary joys come from it. She asked a lot more questions and we were able to answer them through the Holy Ghost. She was so sincere and genuine in wanting to understand. She then told us "I've attended so many churches and they all have great people in them, but your church brings Christlike love and sincere service to the world. Your church is just on another level!" It was so cute! We get to meet with her this next week and we are so excited to start teaching her and see her receive her answers!

I love a good prank. My mission has taught me a lot of really good life lessons and skills, but the one skill  I feel I've grown to master is jello pranks. *shout out to The Office for inspiration* Rewind back to July of last year in Bismarck when we put a fake lizard in jello and left it on the Zone Leaders patio, only to learn that jello melts in the sun and it left a big red stain on the concrete with a lizard lying on its back  looking like it was murdered. Good times.  Well, this is Grand Forks and we still are living off of the high of putting the elders' stuff in Jello. Last transfer one of the elders won a bunch of giant rubber ducks in an arcade game and gave one to each set in the zone. Well in Zone Conference this last monday we allied with one of our senior couple missionaries to sneak the keys to their car and steal their duck. We spent most of our pday on Tuesday making batches of jello and waiting for it to set. and VIOLA! You've got a duck stuck in a bucket of Jello. We wrapped it in saran wrap and cracked glowsticks and stuck them inside the wrapping, and in mind of St Patty's day this last week we put our clover on top. Such a nice gift. Another prank aside from this one is a plunger (it's clean btw) that goes between the elders and sisters cars. If it sticks it stays. So we decided to kill two birds with one stone and plunge their car and leave their jello duck *hold the applause*

The sisters drove out to Crookston MN this week for a lesson and took pictures of the great and spacious building (an old abandoned church) but look how creepy it looks. Crookston is haunted btw. Super weird vibes in the whole town.
The YM/YW threw together a fundraiser for their camps and had a carnival! It was fun to go with our friend Becky and her kids! Super Cute!

We had a great week! Thank you all for the prayers! God is so good!
We've been really trying to study this week about the veil and learn all that we can about it. If you have any resources we would be so grateful if you could share them with us. We've been able to learn a little but not much.
